In the introduction sequence when Wario and Waluigi look at the big scoreboard, you can see Toad and Toadette on the first part to the left on the scoreboard. Notice: They are not playable characters.

Be victorious in the Special Cup Fire and Lightning tournaments in singles mode to unlock Wriggler.

- Play as Petey Piranha
Be victorious in the Special Cup Fire and Lightning tournaments in doubles mode to unlock Petey Piranha.

- Mecha Bowser Mayhem mini-game
Be victorious in the Mushroom Cup tournaments in singles mode to unlock the Mecha Bowser Mayhem mini-game.

- Alternate Yoshi's defensive power shot color
Be victorious in the Flower Cup tournaments in doubles mode to change Yoshi's defensive power shot color.

- Skip credits
After you have seen the credits at least once, keep pushed Begin + A to skip them.

- Star for character
Be victorious in all three Normal Cup tournaments with a character to unlock his or her star version.

- Easy win in Mecha Bowser Mayhem mini-game
Once you get Petey Piranha it will be easier to win. She is tall enough to hit Bullet Bills when they come out.

- Star Cup
Be victorious in all three Normal Cup tournaments to unlock the Star Cup.

- Moonlight Cup
Be victorious in all the Rainbow Cup tournaments to unlock the Moonlight Cup.

- Character bloopers
Play tournament mode and complete the first three championships (Mushroom Cup, Flower Cup, Star Cup) to view the credits, and watch some animated outtakes from the opening FMV sequence. Successfully complete the next three championships you unlock from this (Rainbow Cup, Moonlight Cup, Planet Cup) to view the credits again, but with entirely new outtakes.

- Play as Paratroopa
Be victorious in all three Normal Cup tournaments in doubles mode to unlock Paratroopa.

- Taunts
When your opponent hits the ball, press A or B.

- Play as Shy Guy
Be victorious in all three Normal Cup tournaments in singles mode to unlock Shy Guy.

- Special court options
Play a special court in the Special Cup to get more options for that venue.

- Balloon Panic mini-game
Be victorious in the Flower Cup tournaments in singles mode to unlock the Balloon Panic mini-game.

- Play as Hana-Chan
Be victorious in the Special Cup Fire and Thunder tournaments in singles mode to unlock Hana-Chan.

- Bowser court
Be victorious in the Special Cup Fire tournament in singles mode to unlock the Bowser court.

- Mario Bros. court
Be victorious in the Special Cup Lightning tournament in doubles mode to unlock the Mario Bros. court.

- Random character or court
At the character or court selection screen, press X to randomize your character or court selection. This will not randomize your character's attributes (Hand or Star) and will not randomize your game mode.

- Ace difficulty
Be victorious in the Planet Cup tournaments in singles or doubles mode to unlock the Ace difficulty setting.

- Event mode
At the title screen, keep pushed Z and press Begin.

- Coin Acquireors mini-game
Be victorious in the Mushroom Cup tournaments in singles mode to unlock the Coin Acquireors mini-game.
