Custom background with PSP
Notice: Your PSP must have photos on it. Plug your PSP into the USB ports on the bottom of the system. On the PSP, select the 'USB Connection' option. On the Xbox 360, go to the 'Media' slide and choose 'Pictures'. Then, select the 'Portable' option. Go into the PSP file and the photos file. Any photos on your PSP should appear here. Once you find the picture you want to be your background, press X. If done correctly, the background on all slides should appear to have the picture on it.

Control Media Center PC applications
The Xbox 360 media center remote can be use to control Media Center PCs. While someone has an application such as Word, Notepad, or Explorer open, press Up, Down, Left, or Right on the remote. Whatever they are doing will either scroll or move in that direction.

Music in Xbox games
In backwards compatible games, music can be played. Before playing the game, while still on the Dashboard, go to 'Music'. Select the music you want to play and put it on shuffle or continuous play. Then, load the Xbox game. Even though the guide cannot be opened, the music will still play. This works best with an iPod.

Original Xbox game controls
When playing an original Xbox game, press LB instead of White and RB instead of Black.

Clear hard drive cache
Turn on the Xbox 360 while keep pusheding A to remove old cache files from the hard drive.
Notice: Your saved games and media will stay intact; however, downloaded game updates will be deleted. They can be restored by playing the game again while Xbox Live is activated.
Alternately, if your system had the Spring 2006 patch installed, enter the 'System' menu at the Xbox 360 Dashboard, and select the 'Memory' option. Highlight the hard drive, then push Y. The 'Device Options' screen for the hard drive will appear, with 'Rename' and 'Format' options. Push X(2), LB(2), X(2) to clear the cache.

Use background from PC
If you have a Media Center PC, connect it to the Xbox 360. Then, go to the picture files on the computer using the Xbox 360. Any picture can be used as a background by pressing X.

Preventing hard drive and game corruption
Use the following steps to prevent your games and hard drive from becoming corrupted. At the Xbox 360 Dashboard, enter the 'System' menu, and select the 'Memory' option. Select your hard drive or memory card, then select the 'Games' option. Go to the game that may be giving you trouble. Scroll through the game's saved data. If you see a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside it along with the word 'Corrupted', select it. Once it comes up, select 'Delete'. You will be prompted with a 'Are you sure you want to delete this file?' message. Push A to confirm. This should fix any problems you may have had with that game, and will also prevent data for other games from becoming corrupted.

The following actions can be done while at the 'Avatar Customize' screen:

| Rotate Right Analog-stick in a circle | Make Avatar dizzy. |
| Push RB | Open Avatar's mouth. |

| Keep pushed LT or RT | Spin Avatar making it lose its balance. |
| Push LB | Have Avatar do a random expression |

Hard drive maintenance
At the Xbox 360 Dashboard, enter the 'System' menu, and select the 'Memory' option. Push Y for device options, then push either LB, RB, X(2), LB(2), X(2) or X(2), LB, RB, X(2), LB, RB. You will get a confirmation screen asking if you would like to have maintenance done on your hard drive; press A to confirm. This will not erase anything on your hard drive.
