Discounty is a game that combines role-playing and business management simulation. You're invited by your aunt to manage a local store called Discounty in Blomkest, and after character creation, you're thrown into small-town life, tasked with keeping the store running smoothly. You buy merchandise, arrange shelves and refrigerators, and calculate costs as customers pass by. You design the aisles, arrange products on the shelves, put up decorations, and keep both the store and the warehouse clean. The supermarket is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and during those hours, time speeds up; the rest of the day can be spent restocking and completing missions around town. Another important part of the game is the trade agreements with the four other businesses in Blomkest, each of which can be improved using a points system.
