Gears of War: E-Day Strategy Guide - Mechanical Analysis
Improve your performance by analyzing key gameplay points in Gears of War: E-Day.This video delves into weapon balance, the Gnasher's damage dynamics, aim assist, and the defensive tactics needed to dominate the battlefield.
Use the jump to vault without taking cover
For the first time in the series, you can climb and overcome obstacles without having to take cover first: just look at the object and press the jump button when you're within range to pull yourself up onto ledges, vehicles, or cover. Some maps use these passages to open flanking routes, so it's best to spot them early instead of discovering them under enemy fire.
Close E-holes as soon as you see them
In Horde Siege mode, prioritizing the immediate closing of E-holes significantly shortens subsequent waves and reduces the number of enemies on the field at once.Delaying the closure, perhaps to finish a secondary engagement first, allows the wave to grow beyond its capacity.
Keep an eye on gas bags before they spawn needlers
One team member should be assigned to clear gas bags as soon as they appear: if they remain alive too long, they begin to spawn additional needlers, further complicating an already challenging wave.Assigning this task early, before the wave starts, avoids having to deal with it while the rest of the team is already under pressure.
Remember that smoke grenades do not trigger frag grenades
Only frag grenades detonate other frag grenades or smoke grenades nearby; a single smoke grenade does not trigger anything.Knowing this difference helps you decide when it's safe to throw a smoke bomb near an enemy carrying grenades, without fearing a chain reaction that won't actually happen.
Customize Accessibility from the menu before you start
The Settings menu includes an Accessibility section with several options already available upon first launch, some of which are duplicated in other tabs for easier access.Review them before embarking on a long Horde Siege session: visual comfort and control adjustments are much more comfortable adjusting with a cool head than during a wave.
