Discover the practical tips you absolutely need to know before starting your tropical adventure in Lou's Lagoon. This quick guide offers helpful tips to help you navigate the islands and maximize your gaming experience.
In Lou's Lagoon, you have five tools—Swirler, Scooper, Glider, Fishing Rod, and Builder—each with four levels of upgrade, and each level unlocks the collection of new materials to advance orders and the story. The most effective upgrade order is Swirler, Scooper, Glider, Fishing Rod, Builder. An item with a red outline indicates that the tool in your hand isn't powerful enough to pick it up yet: upgrade it before trying again, rather than fumbling for the same resource.
The game doesn't include fall damage, so you can jump from any height to quickly reach a lower area or cut off your path to an isolated resource. If you get stuck in the scenario, open the settings menu and choose the 'I'm stuck!' option: the seaplane will immediately take you back to your starting point, which is also convenient for just quickly returning to your plane after a long exploration on foot.
The currency of Lou's Lagoon is Shellings. Each island hides several chests that often contain them, and defeating a pirate earns you about a hundred each.Always keep a reserve ready: some items required for missions must simply be purchased; they can't be collected or crafted in a laboratory.
Build two or three harvesting machines that work in parallel: they produce raw materials while you explore elsewhere, then take everything to the Manufacturer to get the finished product in a single step.Your inventory has limited space, so it's best to sell any upgraded tools you no longer use instead of letting them take up space needlessly.
The Glider isn't available from the start: it's unlocked by completing the Ride of Passage mission, after which it's available in the tools menu in Fidge's Lab.Once you've acquired it, you'll have more freedom to reach the upper reaches of the game's four islands, each organized like a small village to explore and rebuild piece by piece.
