*Wardogs* launch day is here: no Linux support at launch and no pre-loading for the 50GB client.

Early access for the Bulkhead Interactive and Team17 milsim has officially begun: no Proton support, no pre-loading, and console releases pushed back to the 1.0 version.

p>In our report from five days ago, we covered the *Wardogs* beta, which had surpassed 100,000 concurrent players.Today, September 10, Early Access has become a reality: the title from Bulkhead Interactive and Team17 launched on Steam in the early afternoon, and the first players have already jumped into the 256 km² maps without a pre-load option—meaning anyone wanting to play from minute one had to download the nearly 50 GB client on launch day itself. However, there is disappointing news for Linux players: the developers clarified via Steam that Proton support "cannot be guaranteed" for the launch and explicitly recommend a refund for those who bought the game expecting it to run that way.It is not a final goodbye—they promise to revisit it once compatibility is confirmed—but for now, *Wardogs* remains a native Windows exclusive, while the developers are already testing alternatives to the Easy Anti-Cheat system. On the console front, there are no surprises: PS5 and Xbox Series X/S are not part of the immediate plans, with a potential release only upon reaching version 1.0—which, according to the developers themselves in an interview back in March, might not arrive until 2027 or even 2028. It will be a long Early Access period, in short, but the player numbers seen during the beta suggest that many are willing to wait.
