Digital Sun has set the date: Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault will be released in version 1.0 on September 2, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, with day one availability also on Game Pass for the Xbox version.
Compared to the original 2018 chapter, which focused entirely on essential top-down pixel art, the sequel changes significantly: the aesthetic switches to a fully isometric 3D.The final release also brings new weapons, new armor, and a new combat move called Bomb Path, which makes enemies explode after taking a certain number of hits.
The game entered Early Access on Steam in November 2025, receiving two major updates during development.Those who prefer a physical copy will have to wait a little longer: Silver Lining will bring the retail edition to Switch 2, PS5, and PC on November 13th.
