Polylithic: review and gameplay of the indie survival game
A comprehensive overview of Polylithic, the new indie survival game set in prehistory that's definitely worth your time. Watch the video to discover the game mechanics and decide if it's right for you before embarking on your adventure.
Movement of the armies
Select an army with the left mouse button and drag the cursor on the map to set a destination. Move the cursor to control the distance in movement points and right-click to confirm the move. Avoid crossing obstacles and mountains because they block the path.
Advanced route planning
Hold down the Shift key before right-clicking to set multiple waypoints along your army's route. This technique allows you to plot specific routes on the game map.
Management of training on the move
Notice the boot icon with the speed lines: if the dust lines appear, the army advances at more than 50% of its movement per turn and switches to marching formation. This configuration increases speed but makes the army vulnerable to ambushes in the event of an enemy attack.
Battle Management and Tactical Cards
Lead your battles using special cards tied to your deployed hero. Place cards in the battlefield to perform special maneuvers, such as the heavy cavalry charge, which is useful for blocking ranged enemies and preventing enemy archers from hitting your troops.
Development and enhancement of localities
Improve locations on the map by spending economic resources and playing prosperity-boosting cards. Upgrade buildings to increase gold income, unlock new recruits, and enhance your cities' defenses.
Creating the workbench
Collect rocks from the ground around the beach and place them on the white template to complete the construction of the stone workbench.
Making the stone blade
Select the Stone Blade recipe from the recipe menu at the crafting table, place the stone slab, and hold down the button to grind the material until you obtain the tool.
Cut the bushes
Equip the stone blade and strike the bushes in the jungle to collect branches and plant fibers that can be used to craft other items.
Collect large branches
Look for large branches on sandy ground or among vegetation and harvest them to obtain wood that can be used for progression and the construction of advanced tools.
