The True Story of the Siege of Masada in Roman Sands RE:Build
We analyze the legendary feat of the Roman X Legion, capable of building an artificial mountain to conquer a desert fortress thought to be impregnable.Discover the historical details of this incredible feat of ancient military engineering directly linked to the game's settings.
In the first act of Roman Sands RE:Build, you wake up on the shore of the same luxury resort, surrounded by guests asking for everything from the mundane to the impossible. Each day ends and begins anew, but completing the required tasks earns experience and opens access to new equipment: the cycle isn't a punishment, it's the framework upon which to build subsequent progress.
Fix the air conditioning and elevator first
Among the many requests from guests, fixing the air conditioning and elevator is worth more than the others: it earns points and starts building a score multiplier that remains active for the rest of the day.Ignoring these two glitches to chase minor requests slows progression needlessly.
Use the staff room in the basement to equip yourself
The resort's basement hides a staff room where you collect the equipment rewards earned by completing tasks. That equipment, in turn, is used to complete more complex requests: without stopping there after each turn, much of the first act's content remains out of reach.
What changes after the end of the first act?
The satire on work and the predatory mechanics of games gives way to something entirely different: in the second act, you find yourself in a decrepit zoological research facility, with the outside world becoming uninhabitable and a voice on the radio as your only guide. The game stops being about guest management and becomes about solving puzzles to keep a constantly failing life support system running—two different games stitched into one title, developed by the studio behind the cult classic Paratopic.
