Vampire Survivors goes red: Legacy of the Bloodmoon is the new DLC available today

Vampire Survivors welcomes its new expansion today, August 28, 2026: Legacy of the Bloodmoon.The DLC brings 12 new characters—including Malice Bloodmoon, Calogero Bloodmoon, Baal'Thasar, Ashtart, and Sargon—as well as over 16 new weapons and evolutions, an XL map, and eight original music tracks.

The story, while minimal as per series tradition, is nonetheless fascinating: it is said that the saint Baal'Thasar had a vision of a paradise illuminated by a red moon, and founded the Order of the Red Moon to lead the faithful to a land of eternal life.It's not much, but it's already more lore than you really need in a bullet-hell survivor.

The game remains available on Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile, and this new installment adds to a catalog of expansions that continues to grow at a surprising rate for a title released years ago.If you've already played every single playthrough with the base characters, this is a good opportunity to come back.
