007 First Light has surpassed 4 million copies sold exactly three months after its launch on May 27, 2026. IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios announced the news, and it's a pretty good number for a game that takes the Hitman team into a different narrative territory, that of the origins of James Bond.
However, there's a less exciting note for those waiting for the Nintendo Switch 2 version: IO Interactive had talked about a launch this summer, and now the window has widened to a more vague later in 2026.The game remains confirmed for that platform, just delayed.
Such a solid commercial result, arriving even before the Switch 2 audience can get their hands on the game, says something about the confidence placed in this first chapter of the IO Interactive series: if the sales momentum holds even after the Switch 2 release, it will hardly be the team's last Bond.
