The Slasher event takes players across Appalachia to gather clues and dig up graves, eventually leading to a face-off with the Pint-Sized Slasher—the mysterious figure behind a series of seasonal murders.While not entirely new for the series—Bethesda brings back horror-themed events every autumn—this year it arrives alongside a more structural addition: "Legacy Seasons," which allow a past season to run concurrently with the current one.Over 80 unique weapons are being updated to allow for the changing of legendary mods, a feature previously restricted for much of the game's legacy gear.
The native PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions promise better performance and greater stability compared to the older cross-gen build that currently runs via backward compatibility—an update arriving eight years after the game's original launch, by which time the majority of the console install base has already moved on to the next generation.
