The PvPvE shooter Active Matter will be released on September 15 on Steam, Xbox Series XS and PlayStation 5: news, price and the latest game update.
Active Matter, the PvPvE shooter hunting space-time anomalies developed by Gaijin Entertainment, finally has an official release date: September 15, 2026 on Steam, Xbox Series XS, and PlayStation 5. The game places players in quantum-unstable zones, where active matter reigns, the substance capable of bending time and space that gives the title its name and justifies scenarios like an entire airport suspended in a gravitational anomaly.
Those who had already purchased the early access version on the Gaijin Store don't have to start from scratch: access on Steam comes for free, and progress is linked between the two platforms. For those who are just discovering the game, a free demo is already available on Steam, with progress transferring to the full version at launch.
The latest public update, 250 Shades of Liberty, added new city center areas and a raid set in Africa, complete with a military airport and aircraft stuck in mid-air by the same anomalies that the game places at the center of combat. The Standard Edition will cost €29.99.
Honestly, the extraction shooter genre is certainly not lacking in competition these days, but the crazy physics-based setting is original enough to stand out among the crowd of raids set in the same military bases. We'll keep you updated as soon as we get our hands on the final version.
