Kojima is notoriously accustomed to this kind of reaction: a photo without context is enough for the community to interpret it as a sign of future content, perhaps a new DLC, perhaps something else related to Lee's character.Nothing is confirmed at the moment, and honestly, it could just be a greeting between friends that ended up online.
In the meantime, game owners have a more concrete reason to return to the beach: from August 21st to September 11th, Part 8 of Kojima Productions' "Year-Round Photo Mode Campaign" is open, with the theme "Color."Simply post a shot in-game with the hashtags #DSPhoto2026_P8 and #DeathStranding2: the staff selects 20 finalists each month, then votes on two as "Photo of the Moment."The 24 photos chosen throughout the year will end up printed in the official 2027 calendar, given directly to the winning photographers.
On the technical front, the game remains supported: the latest PC update, patch 1.10, fixed a crash that occurred when using the instant camera and some key mapping issues on Steam Input.Nothing sensational, but it's a sign that Kojima Productions hasn't closed the On the Beach chapter yet — the photo with Don Lee, at this point, justifies a bit of suspicion.
