Cheats and Tips for Chrono Trigger on IPHONE

Introduction and Game Plot

Chrono Trigger is Square's time-travel RPG, here in the iPhone version. The page explains how to easily get Silver Fair points. They're needed both to get the Chrono clone and, at the beginning, to earn enough money to buy Excalibur, a significant help. The best advice is to play the race or beat the robot. There's also a solution.

Easy Money, Points and Items

Easy Silver Points

Silver points are needed to get the Chrono Clone and, at the start, to earn enough money for Excalibur. The best way is the race or beating the robot. To win the race, listen to the old man behind the fence to the right of the starting point: he tells you the winner the first three times. After that, always bet on him and distract the other runners by talking to them.

Easy Tech Points

At Mt. Woe fight the Rubbles. On the second level (with the Rubbles in the upper right corner) defeat them, go back to the previous level and you will find the Rubbles again: every victory gives 1000 EXP and 100 tech points.

Lots of Money and the Lode Sword in the Prison

In prison after Marle's "kidnapping", wait three days instead of escaping. From the execution room turn right, go up and keep going to a cell with a hole in the wall; go out the hole, go down along the wall to another entrance. Explore the room to a black hole and drop down by pressing A: lots of treasure.

Easy Equipment

Best equipment for Magus: at Ozzie's fort, in the room with the treasure chest ignore Ozzie and leave the room by the upper exit: Ozzie gives up and lets you take the treasure. Under the upper exit there is a hole in the invisible wall: inside are a weapon, helmet and armor for Magus and a magic tablet.
Free armor and helmets: in 1000 A.D., at Taban's house (Lucca's father), at different times he gives you the Taban Vest, Taban Elm and Taban Armor, which only Lucca can equip.
The Mop: use Charm on the Nu on the hunters' floor in 65,000,000 B.C. Even if you arrive early, it will be weak.
Secret room in Yakra's place: in the room with the fake queen, king and soldier, kill the fakes and run right: a room with singing monsters and 2 chests after the statue. Afterward, you can fight the monsters by talking to them.
Secret painting of the Naga-ettes: in the cathedral in 600 A.D., in the first room on the stairs on the left with three chests, open the desk: you will have to fight after taking it.
Unlimited Power Tabs (Ayla needed): at the end of the Black Omen, in the room after the 2 Nus there is a Turbo Monster: use Charm with Ayla to steal a power tab, leave, re-enter and repeat.
Unlimited Shelters: in the Guardia Forest of 600 A.D., a moving bush hides a Spekkio-like monster that runs away leaving a Shelter. Leave and re-enter to repeat.
Industry door: if you have trouble, every time the computer asks for the password press X, A, B, Y.

Events and Secrets

Charging and using the Sun Stone: take it to 65,000,000 B.C. in the sunkeep; in the present the mayor will not give it to you until you do another favor: in 600 A.D., in the mayor's house, talk to the woman who asks you to buy something and choose to give it to her. Return to the present: the mayor gives you the stone. Put it back in the sunkeep and go to the future with Lucca in the party: she will build her best weapon. Lucca's father will build an accessory that increases attack: take it to Melchior, in the castle, together with the rainbow shell for Chrono's best equipment.
Yakra XXII: from the Giant Crustacean in 600 A.D. kill the enemies for experience; go near the rainbow shell and ask the Guardia castle for help; in 1000 A.D. you pass a trial against Marle's father: they tell you about a locked chest. For the key you have to fight Yakra XXII. If you then fight Lavos, you will see the parade as the ending.
Saving Lucca's mother: before the end of the game, in 600 A.D., after Fiona's house, there is a whirlpool in the sand (it brings Ice and Water magic): defeat the skeleton with water and ice magic and go back to Fiona; with Robo in the party, let him stay to help her. In 1000 A.D. where the desert was you find a forest with a cathedral: inside, on top of a pedestal, there is an old Robo. Make it come down and, while everyone sleeps, check on Lucca: on the right there is a portal that takes her home in the past. When the machine asks for the password press L-A-R-A: Lucca's mother is saved and in the ending you will see her dancing with Taban.
More power in the future: if you take a chest in the past it is not there in the future; if you take it in the future it is also there in the past but with a different item. In the past, choose not to take what it contains; then in the future take the same chest: the item will be more powerful.
New Game+: when the game is finished the NEW GAME option appears: you start over with the weapons, items and experience you have accumulated, and you can access all the endings.

Alternate Endings

Defeat Lavos at the moment indicated for each ending:

Beyond Time: after relaunching Crono at Death Peak. Reunion: while Crono is dead. The Dream Project: at the Ocean Palace or right after starting a new game.
The Successor of Guardia: after saving Leene and Marle, before going to the End of Time. Good Night: after the End of Time, before returning to the Middle Ages. The Legendary Hero: after arriving in the Middle Ages, before the Hero's Badge.
The Unknown Past: after the badge, before the theft of the gate key. People of the Times: after getting the key back, before giving the Masamune to the frog. The Oath: after giving the Masamune, before the fight with the Mage.
Dino Age: after Magus, before Azala. What the Prophet Seeks: after Azala, before Schala opens the sealed door. Memory Lane: after the sealed door, before reactivating the pendant's light. Dream's Epilogue: defeat the Dream Devourer in the Time of Eclipse.
