Mount & Blade Warband: How to win battles when outnumbered

Which hero should I choose to start with?
Blades & Battles pits you against Arthur and Lancelot, each with their own repertoire of attacks and spells. If you want an easy start, choose Lancelot: the trophy guide notes that with him the 20-hit combo almost comes naturally already in the first level.
Easy difficulty and continues
First of all, play the tutorial, then start on easy mode: you have 3 lives and 3 continues. If you run out of them all, you don't start over, but restart from the last level you completed. For a first playthrough, this is the most relaxed way to see all the levels.
High or low path in levels 2, 3, and 4?
In levels 2, 3, and 4, the path splits in two. The guide recommends taking the high one with Arthur and the low one with Lancelot, so you can see both variants in two playthroughs.
Level 1 without eating and without Super Special
One of the trophies requires you to complete the first level without collecting food and, on your first playthrough, without using the Super Special. This means avoiding all food throughout the level, so it's best to get there with your hands firmly on the controls. The Super Special is needed in the second playthrough: there you have to defeat 5 enemies with that move.
What to do in level 5
There are two objectives to remember here. You have to knock an enemy off an elevator, and you have to defeat another with the Super Special before the gate explodes: activate it quickly.
How long does it take to get the platinum?
Not much: the estimate is about 1 hour and 20 minutes in total. The game also features local co-op for two-player co-op on the same screen if you'd rather not tackle the levels alone.
