Cheats and Secrets for Duke Nukem Forever on PC

Introduction and Game Plot

Duke Nukem Forever is the Duke Nukem shooter that's finally here after years of waiting, here in the PC version. This page collects cheats and bonuses from the Extras menu, which are unlocked by completing the game on the indicated difficulties. A note warns that activating the Infinite Ammo, Instagib, or Invincibility options prevents you from earning Ego points, and that the concept art illustrations depend on the difficulty you complete.

Unlockable Extras

Complete the game on the indicated difficulty to unlock the bonuses in the "Extras" menu. Using Infinite Ammo, Instagib or Invincibility prevents you from earning Ego points.

Easy difficulty or higher: concept art, development time, Duke's sound board, scale of the enemies' and characters' heads, videos, screenshots, photos of Triptych's office.
Normal difficulty or higher: Duke's Frozen 3D Ray (ice bullets that bounce), game speed, grayscale, Infinite Ammo, Instagib (enemies killed with one hit), Invincibility (no damage from guns or explosions), Mirror Mode.

Multiplayer

Overdrive Mode: reach level 40: the points earned are doubled (except challenges) and you get 20 points every time an enemy is damaged.
Accessories in the dressing room: 250 kills with the rifle = Backwards Baseball Cap; with the Enforcer = Brain Sucker; with the Ripper = Cheese Hat; with the Rocket Launcher = Detonator Logo; with the Railgun = I Shot Stupid Logo; with the Pistol = Military Hat; with the Devastator = Retro Duke Logo; with the AT laser = Tie-Dye Shirt.
75 kills: with bombs = Baseball Cap; with the Garter Pistol = Canadian Flag Logo; melee = Hoplite Helmet; with mines = Jester Hat; with Steroids = Wolf Logo; with explosive barrels = WTF Logo. Freeze a player 75 times = Ski Goggles; jump on 75 enemies = Uncle Sam Hat.

References and Secrets

Rat in the microwave: Chapter 2, in the room with the microwave there is a rat underneath: you can pick it up and put it inside.
Dead Space: in the chapter "The Hive", after the first door go left and straight, crouch under the bridge: a dead EDF soldier has Isaac Clarke's helmet.
Halo: at the start of "Ruined Vegas", the armor in the van is the one from Halo with Duke's symbol. 300: Duke says "Tonight you dine in Hell" after a kill in "Ruined Vegas".
Mortal Kombat: among Duke's music there is "Fatality": selecting it Duke says "Duke wins, Fatality". Starship Troopers: Duke says "I come from Las Vegas and I will kill you all".

Easy Achievements

Air-Duke: at Air Hockey in the arcade defend your goal as much as you can: the enemy is weak and the 7-0 comes by itself.
Balls Of Steel: at pinball (also in "Duke's Quarry") get the x2 multiplier without losing balls: hold the upper-left flipper, bring the ball there, release quickly and make it enter the 3 panels. If it goes too far right, tilt the table to the left, no more than once every 5 seconds.
Bucket Head (3 helmets): the first at the start of "Ruined Vegas" behind a vehicle; the second at the start of "The Hive", on the left after the first alien hole; the third in "Blow Up the Fortress", after the first bomb and the 2 octopuses, on the left.
Companion Barrel: in Part 2 of "The Forkstop", in the large area where you turn on the power, climb the wall on the right, take the barrel and put it on the blue heart to open the secret room.
I Am All That Is Man: 28 Ego Awards and other extras during the story; get them all on the first playthrough for the achievement in "Blow Up the Fortress". I Need A Date: in "The Squishing Machine", after the first room behind the double doors there is a calendar: flip through all the pages.
Party Animal: in the strip club drink all 9 beers (one is behind the warehouse, code 4768). Pescaphobe: in "Blow Up the Fortress" kill all 15 fish.
Sticky Bomb Like You!: at the start of "Duke's Quarry" throw a mine in an enemy's face. Sunday, Black Sunday: in "Duke Lives!", at the start of the first fight shoot the glow in the background. Turd Burglar: pick up an item from the toilet and throw it.

Difficulty: Piece of Cake = complete the campaign on Easy; Let's Rock = Normal; Come Get Some = Hard; Damn, I'm Good = Insane.
Bosses: A Good Dam Fight = Battlelord at the Hoover Dam; Pit Champion = Battlelord in Las Vegas; Beating the One-Eyed Worm = Energy Leecher; Not Bad for a Human = Alien Queen; Octacide = Octaking; One-Eyed Freak = Cycloid.
Kills: Extermination 50 aliens; Annihilation 100; Nuclear Devastation 250; Natural Disaster 3x = 3 aliens together; Hippy-Stomper = stomp 12 aliens; On the Noggin' = 30 with headshots; Dead Useful = 10 with environmental explosives; Trapper = 10 with mines; Freeze Well! = 15 frozen; Fork the Pork = 6 with the Forklift; Road Rage = 15 with the Monster Truck.
