Which abilities are best to have right away?
Three make a difference right from the start: Second Chance is obtained by fusing two level 3 or higher Curas with a Pulsing Crystal, Once More with two level 3+ Firas and a Wellspring Crystal, Leaf Bracer with two level 3+ Aeros and a Pulsing Crystal. Abilities are not learned by leveling up like in previous chapters: you choose which type to learn each time you synthesise with an additive crystal.
How does fusing commands work?
First you level up the two commands you want to merge, then fuse them into a new one. If you add a crystal, you also get a new ability, which activates when the fused command levels up. Abilities are equipped automatically at the end of the upgrade and remain available even if you remove the command from the deck. Action commands require duplicate copies, and the game doesn't mention it: Renewal Block, obtained from Esuna plus Block, is one of the most powerful.
Why use Ventus' D-Link?
At level 1, it grants Haste, and combat speed increases to the point of making the character almost unstoppable. For an easy advantage in the early hours, it's the most convenient shortcut in the game.
Where is the Terra Xehanort Report?
You can find it in the Mirage Arena, in the battle against the Sinister Sentinel, which unlocks after the early stages of the story and with the required arena level.
How do you deal with groups of enemies?
Magnet and Zero Gravity pick up enemies and leave them defenseless, but they don't work against bosses. When you're at a loss for what to do, hold down R1 to cast a shotlock: it clears the screen of mobs and also deals damage to bosses.
What is A Fragmentary Passage?
It's the secret ending exclusive to Final Mix, and unlike the others, it's playable: you control Aqua in the Realm of Darkness, where she fights several pure-blooded Heartless with Eraqus's Master's Defender. Aqua's progress from the Final Episode carries over, but the world map is inaccessible because she's trapped.
