Cheats and Secrets for Call Of Duty: World At War on XBOX360

Introduction and Game Plot

Call of Duty: World at War is the shooter set in World War II, here in the Xbox 360 version. The page contains a secret: some clan tags produce animations in the player's name when in a group. For example, dots making an o jump, a red laser going through the name, or the name bouncing from left to right. Just type the corresponding tag.

Secrets and Modes

Name Animations

Enter as Clan Tag:

....: an "o" jumps between the dots after the name.
CYLN: a red laser sweeps across the name.
MOVE: the name jumps from left to right.
RAIN: the rainbow scrolls through the name.
CYCL: unknown effect.

Modes

Hardcore Team Deathmatch: level 13.
Veteran Mode (co-op with stronger enemies): level 32.
Zombie Mode (4-player co-op against an endless horde of Nazi zombies): complete the Campaign.
Extra slots for custom weapons: Prestige rank 6 (first Prestige), 7 (second), 8 (fourth), 9 (seventh), 10 (tenth).

Alien Ray Gun (mission "Little Resistance")

After the ship crashes, call in an air strike at the indicated spot. Run onto the beach and go right: there is a small puddle. Step into it, then go to the middle of the beach where there is a smaller one: step into it. Head to the lower left corner of the beach and stand on the puddle inside the puddle, on the barbed wire. After a few seconds the screen shakes, you hear strange voices and 4 lion statues rise with an alien ray gun in their mouths.

Bolt-action rifles: Springfield and Arisaka (level 4), Mosin-Nagant (21), Kar98k (41), PTRS-41 (57). With the Aiming Challenges: bayonet, sniper scope and rifle grenade.
Rifles: SVT-40 (4), Gewehr 43 (7), M1 Garand (17), STG-44 (37), M1A1 Carbine (65). Attachments: Camouflage, Suppressor, Telescopic Sight, Aperture Sight, Box Magazine.
Submachine guns: Thompson (4), MP40 (10), Type 100 (25), PPSh-41 (53).
Shotguns: M1897 Trench Gun (4), Double-Barreled Shotgun (29).
Machine guns: Type 99 and BAR (4), DP-28 (13), MG 42 (33), FG 42 (45), Browning M1919 (61).
Pistols: Colt M1911, Nambu, Walther P38 (4), Tokarev TT-33 (21), .357 Magnum (49).

Kill bonuses (multiplayer): 3 kills in a row = recon plane, 5 = artillery, 7 = dog pack.

Death Cards

Collect a card to unlock its effect in Co-op mode.

Thunder (Semper Fi, 8 of Hearts): headshots make enemies explode. After leaving the hut, in the other one on the right.
Hard Headed (Little Resistance, 4 of Spades): enemies take less damage. At the end, before the last building, in a corner of bushes on the right.
Suicide King (Hard Landing, King of Hearts): explosive shots from the pistol. Midway through the mission, in the big building with the mini-pole, on the lower level.
Cold Dead Hands (Vendetta, 5 of Diamonds): enemies carry their weapons with them. After the sniper section, in the building where Reznov takes you, following the bar to the end.
Sticks & Stones (Their Land, Their Blood, Joker): the arsenal is a dagger and stones. Destroy the tanks and in the barn, in the stalls on the right.
Vampire (Burn 'em Out, Queen of Hearts): health recharges only by killing. Before the second mortar position, in the bunker on the left.
Flak Jacket (Relentless, 9 of Diamonds): less explosive damage. At the end of the mission, halfway between the two paths.
Body Armor (Ring of Steel, Jack of Spades): enemies die only from headshots. In the asylum, immediately on the left, in the lower corner at the back.
Undead Soldier (Eviction, Ace of Spades): enemies come back from the dead. After the kitchen, in the room on the right with a large hole.
Painkiller (Blowtorch & Corkscrew, 10 of Spades): shoot the downed teammate to revive them. At the second bunker, on the left, near an upside-down Japanese soldier.
Berserker (Breaking Point, 3 of Diamonds): 3 kills in 5 seconds become Assassin. Clear the 4 trenches with the mortars, then in the hut to the south.
Paintball (Heart of the Reich, 6 of Spades): paint gun. In the blocked subway entrance opposite the start.
Victory (Downfall, 2 of Spades): limited view, friendly fire, blood after half the time. Before the theater, through the door on the right.

Tricks

Extra ammo (single player): shoot near the body of a non-essential teammate (not a story one): they die and drop their weapon. If they keep getting back up, they are essential.
Hiding among the dead (multiplayer): lie on the ground next to a corpse and lower your weapon, holding it high enough to see. After a few kills, change spot.

Easy Trophies

Gunslinger: after reaching the sniper point to kill General Amsel, fire all the pistol's ammo, pick up the sniper rifle and take the pistol back: you will have 80 shots instead of 13.
Rough Economy (3 enemies with one shot): in the mission "Vendetta", at the first assault against the Nazis, when 4 enemies arrive from the balconies on the left wait for the other three and shoot them all. Or, after General Amsel's guards, stay near the car and wait for 3 Nazis in a row.
Close Shave: survive a Banzai attack.

Achievements (Gamerscore)

100 points: Hardened War Hero (complete the game on Hardened or Veteran difficulty). 40: War Hero (complete the game on any difficulty).
30 points: complete a mission on Veteran difficulty: Get Your Hands Dirty (Semper Fi), Bloody Peleliu (Little Resistance), The Sword Is Broken (Hard Landing), Architect (Vendetta), The Hammer Strikes (Their Land, Their Blood), Scorched Earth (Burn 'em Out), Fearless (Relentless), Hell on Wheels (Blood and Iron), No Return (Ring of Steel), When It Rains, It Pours (Eviction), One Bad Gato (Black Cats), Blowtorch & Corkscrew, Setting of the Sun (Breaking Point), For the Motherland (Heart of the Reich), Bearing the Burden (Downfall). Get Your Left Foot Wet and Get Your Right Foot Wet (30): online co-op matches.
25 points: Blue Ribbon (first place in a competitive 4-player match).
20 points: The Last Stand (survive Okinawa), Stabbed in the Heart (all the missions on the Eastern Front).
15 points: Stormed Peleliu, Weapon of Mass Destruction (naval bombardment that kills at least 4 soldiers), No Safe Place, The Professional (shoot all of Amsel's henchmen, dogs included, without firing), Gunslinger (kill Amsel with a pistol shot), Firestarter (a level with the flamethrower only), Iron Fist (all the towers and bunkers in "Blood and Iron"), Ruthless (15 enemies from the tank in "Ring of Steel"), The Sum of All Zeros (45 Zeros in "Black Cats"), Rough Economy (3 enemies with one shot), Snake in the Grass, Grave Robber (all the Death Cards), Kamikaze, Throw a Six and a Half.
10 points: Carlson's Raiders (complete "Semper Fi" on any difficulty), Saved Private Ryan, Shot in the Dark (10 enemies with the lights off), Lights Out!, Mortar-dom (8 Japanese with the mortars), Guardian Angel (save Sergeant Roebuck), Close Shave (survive a Banzai attack).
5 points: Purple Heart. Secrets (0 points): It's All About Prestige (first Prestige), Go Get Some Sun (level 55 at the tenth Prestige).
