Liquid Swords brings the action fighting game to PS5 and Xbox Series XS on September 21, with all PC updates already included at launch.

p>Samson: A Tyndalston Story has a specific date for its console release: it will arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series XS on September 21st, accompanied by a new trailer that Liquid Swords published just a few days ago.

The game, for those who aren't familiar with it, was released on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) on April 8th, to a rather lukewarm reception: we're not denying that the original version didn't convince critics and the public much. But the console version isn't starting from scratch. It already includes, on day one, all seven updates released so far plus both content drops released in the meantime: expanded parry window, uninterruptible takedowns, three difficulty levels, new assignments and even a separate racing area, the Lone Line Circuit.

The story follows Samson McCray, who returns to Tyndalston, the town that made him what he is, with a debt he can't repay and a sister used as leverage by those who want to collect it.The tone is the dry and unadorned one of an old-school action game, with a touch of a PS3 fighting/driving game more than a AAA production.

Liquid Swords is the studio founded by Christofer Sundberg, one of the co-founders of Avalanche Studios, and brings with it people who worked on Just Cause and Mad Max - not exactly novices when it comes to physics-based action and systemic worlds. With months of patches already digested and, likely, a more mature price than the PC launch, is it the right version for those who waited? If the PC debut was immature, the console version arrives already polished.
