Introduction and Game Plot

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is the video game inspired by the fifth book in the saga, here in the Xbox 360 version. As you explore Hogwarts, you unlock prizes that end up in the Hall of Recognition, and this page explains how to get them. For each cup, you'll find the required task: meet all the characters, cast all the defensive spells in a duel, find the four ghosts of the house, and track the animals. There are also Professor Flitwick's spells, which are unlocked after his mini-tasks. It's a practical guide for the completionist, because it tells you which actions earn each prize without having to wander randomly around the castle.

Awards in the Room of Achievements

Character Cup: meet all 58 Hogwarts characters.
Defense Against the Dark Arts Cup: cast all the defensive spells in 6 duels.
House Ghost Cup: find all 4 House Ghosts.
Nature Trail Cup: find all the animal tracks.

House Ghosts

Find the fallen portrait in the corridors and put it back with Wingardium Leviosa: the Bloody Baron is in the Catacombs, the Grey Lady near the library on the second floor, the Fat Friar on the first floor near the exit to the Stone Bridge.

Tasks and Tricks

Flitwick's O.W.L. Charm

After Professor Flitwick's mini-task you enter the charms chamber and he calls out the spells to cast on certain objects. With an "Outstanding" you earn an award. The order is:

Accio on a rope near the fireplace

Luna's Lost Things

In the Entrance Courtyard: use Wingardium Leviosa on the broom and move the leaves on the right side.
In the Great Hall, on the table. At the Viaduct Entrance, in front of the bookcase near the stuttering portrait.
In the Clock Tower, right in front of the Fountain. In the Library, on the table.

Talking Gargoyles

In the courtyard where Dean is; on the spiral staircase toward Defense Against the Dark Arts; in the Viaduct; on the fourth-floor balcony; in the Paved Courtyard (repair the broken bookcase in the corner, at the end of the balcony). With Incendio on the gargoyles you get Discovery Points.

Flying Creatures and Fred and George's Packages

Bats: under the Fire Bridge (light the torches with Incendio and go down the pipe all the way to the bottom). Ravens: at the Stone Circle. Spirits: on the viaduct. Imps: in a desk in the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. Seagulls: in the boathouse.
F&G packages: outdoors look for small glittering patches of earth and cast Accio: a hidden package appears. They are usually found at the Stone Circle and behind Hagrid's Hut (also on the road to the forest).

Easiest Discovery Points

Room of Achievements: Wingardium Leviosa on the duster to clean the awards, then examine them: 4 discoveries.
Herbarium: use Wingardium Leviosa on the bunch hanging from the ceiling to scatter soil into the 4 pots, then on the water straw to water them: spiky plants grow. At the entrance, use Accio on the rope in a corner.
Tidying Hogwarts: in the caretaker's room, to the left of the main door, run the cloth with Wingardium Leviosa over the four tiles; then do the same near the catacomb stairs at the Viaduct Entrance.
Gryffindor Common Room (100 points each): cast Accio repeatedly to make all the books fly together; talk to the Quidditch portrait and then to the third old woman to free the spy and grab it.
Other 100-point ones: benches with Wingardium Leviosa on the house symbols in the Main Courtyard and in the Transfiguration Courtyard; defeat the Hogwarts Gobstones champion in the Paved Courtyard (all three rule sets).
Teachers and students: if a student or teacher lights up, hold R1 and cast a dueling spell (a teacher takes Gryffindor points away).

Shortcuts and Passwords

Fourth-floor library shortcut: talk to the portrait that wants the news from the Daily Prophet. In the Great Hall, in front of the table, cast Wingardium Leviosa: an owl leaves a newspaper near a Gryffindor student, examine it and go back to the portrait: the password is "No news is good news".
Shortcut to the boathouse (Percival Pratt): follow the chain of portraits. Fifth floor of the Grand Staircase: the portrait sends you to the three-faced portrait on the seventh floor, which sends you to Professor Basil Fronsac (third floor, near the talking gargoyle), then to the one before the Charms Room, then to the Fat Lady's second-floor stand-in, then to Gifford Abbott at the bottom of the Grand Staircase, who says the password: "This password is absurd". Repeat it to Pratt.

Mini-Tasks

Flitwick: the spell book is in the Great Hall, being read by a Ravenclaw student near the fire.
Snape: the book is in the restricted area, at the back on the left, in the second row from the back: press X when it appears.
Colin in the Owlery: stand in the middle of the area where he sends the last package, so it does not fall down the stairs.
Flooded packages: with Luna (Clock Tower Courtyard) move a bench near the pear tree, climb up, use Reparo on the roof and Reducto on the X, levitate the package to the big X near the fountain and blow it up with Incendio or Reducto. With Ginny (Transfiguration Courtyard) levitate the package out of the tree, defeat the Wizard and take it to the big X. In the Paved Courtyard repair the broken pipes with Reparo, climb onto the roof, knock the package down and blow it up.

Other

Defeating Voldemort: with Dumbledore do not use Levicorpus or Petrificus Totalus. The first time Voldemort is on the platform you hit him only when he casts his special power. Use Protego to deflect his spells.
R.A.B.'s Locket (reference to the seventh book): at Grimmauld Place, at Christmas, while you help Ginny find the objects, by moving the painting you see a locket hanging on the wall: it is one of the Horcruxes.
Howlers: they can be heard on the narrow staircases that connect the Catacombs to the Viaduct Entrances.

Achievements (Gamerscore)

100 points: Recruit Dumbledore's Army (recruit Dumbledore's Army), Unhinge Umbridge (cause chaos in Umbridge's Hogwarts), Finish the Story (finish the story), Finish on Hardest Difficulty (finish on the hardest difficulty).
50 points: complete the discoveries of level 13. 30 points: Get to the Room of Requirement (discover the Room of Requirement); discoveries of levels 11 and 12.
20 points: Go to Hogwarts (complete the Grimmauld Place guide); Win the Defense Cup (all defensive spells in a single encounter); discoveries of levels 5 to 10; Grand Master Cup (beat all the Wizard Chess champions); Exploding Snap Cup (all the Exploding Snap champions); Golden Gobstone Cup (all the Gobstones champions); Friend of the Year Cup (find Luna's lost items); Studious Success Cup (secret: grade "O" in all lessons).
10 points: Characters Cup (all characters), Explorer Cup (all areas), discoveries of levels 1 to 4, Portrait Password Cup (the password of every shortcut portrait), House Ghost Cup (the House Ghosts), Ornithology Cup (all flying creatures), Homework Cup (all the teachers' mini-tasks), Architecture Cup (all hidden symbols), Smuggler Cup (Fred and George's packages), Secret Statue Cup (the secret chess statues), Witches and Wizards Cup (the wizard plaques), Nature Trail Cup (the tracks of rare creatures), School Pride Cup (clean Hogwarts).
Secrets (10 points): Walk the Platform (walk 9 and three-quarter miles), DA Ten and DA Twenty (recruit 10 and 20 members of the Army), Magic 500 (successfully cast 500 spells).

Easy Nature Trail Cup: at Hagrid's house check the garden for the Hippogriff's tracks, then search the forest behind the house for the tracks of the Thestrals and Centaurs.
