Harvest Moon DS is the farming game for Nintendo DS where you grow crops, raise animals, and make friends in town. The page collects secrets related to the cartridges and the protagonist's house. Inserting Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town or More Friends of Mineral Town for Game Boy Advance into the cartridge slot displays characters from that game, and inspecting a section of the house reveals the Battle minigame.

Secrets and Mini-Games
Bonus characters: insert Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town or More Friends of Mineral Town into the cartridge slot to make that game's characters appear.
Battle mini-game: inspect your dog's house at 4:44: the Harvest Sprite Princess teleports you to the mine and a mini-game starts near some marriageable girls. If you win you get a diploma and the title of "Battle Master".
Memory mini-game: wake up at 6, leave the house and re-enter right away to get 6:01, then look at the series of cassettes on the shelf.
TV Shopping channel: buy from Karen at the supermarket for ten days in a row to unlock Channel 2.
Killing the mayor: at the start, after the sequence with the Harvest Goddess and the Harvest Sprite Princess, attack him several times: the dog bites him and he asks you for help; if you say "No" he dies (and you lose the game).
Leaving the screen with the horse: at a spot with two walls on the sides near a transition (for example the beach entrance), go as close as possible to the edge, put the horse in front of the wall on the right and dismount: it leaves the screen but you can still move. To get out, go back near it and quickly move to the adjacent area.
Money and Resources
Easy money: after taking the legendary sword at the bottom of the second mine, unlock the Super Field behind the waterfall and in autumn plant Yams: the waterfall speeds up growth by a day and the Yams grow every two days. With the Miracle Gloves from the Harvest casino, equip them in the mines. Dig up jewels and sell them to Van on days 3 and 8 (he deals up to 3,000 gold or more).
Selling cheap items to unlock Sprites: call a ranch and buy as much fodder as possible (usually 99 at a time), then sell everything back (better with the Miracle Gloves). The Sprites unlock at: Paddy about 500 items sold, Fraw 1,000, Ridge 5,000, Ali 10,000, Cady 30,000. They are all part of the harvest team.
Can Food Maker: after getting the Maker Shed, buy it: putting in sellable items earns you 25% more. With level 100 pineapples you get an extra 2,500,000 G.
Easy fish: with a basement, fish in the hole in the water.
Easy milk and wool: brush all the animals (except the dog, chicken, cat and duck) with the Touch gloves, tap "Back" and quickly switch to the milker or the shears: you get milk or wool. It works best with the milker at level 99 (99 bottles of milk per cow); after level 1 it goes up with every use.
Infinite health in the mines: if you fall in the hole and lose a lot of health (100 or more), drink a Bodigizer just before dying (put it in the slot next to the green one to use it faster).
Tools and Farm
Easy upgrades: buy lots of Bodigizers (also XL) and Turbojolts. Use the tool in the air (S) until you almost faint, drink a Bodigizer or a Turbojolt and resume: repeat until the tool is upgraded.
Watering can: fill it with water many times and pour the water into nothing: the bar goes up by at least 10 each time. Turbo Bodigizers may be needed.
Saving time: inside a building, equip a tool from your bag and open the map from the touchscreen: with the watering can tap a crop to water it without wasting time.
Fast training: before cuddling cows, sheep or horses, tap the Harvest Sprite Station: you speed up the animals and receive hearts.
Weather: to change the next day's weather, reload the previous day and go to bed (save first and check the weather in the morning so you do not lose work). It can prevent buildings from collapsing or animals from dying.
Bag: stack similar items to save space. Garbage: the only place to throw it away is your field: elsewhere people start disliking you.
Materials for Building and Upgrading the Farm
Fodder/Grass: it can collapse at any time. Wood: it probably collapses in storms. Stone: recommended, far more convenient than Golden Wood, 5% chance of collapse in storms. Golden Wood: never collapses, but costs 100,000 G each.
Recommended Crops
Spring: Cabbage (high price, 15 days to grow, 250 G at level 1); Turnip (low price but grows quickly: easy to level up).
Summer: Pineapple (needed a lot to level up, once a year): 500 G at level 1, 50,000 G at level 10.
Autumn: Sweet potatoes (Yams): they grow every other day, 100 G at level 1 and 10,000 G at level 10.
Girls and Marriage
Marriageable girls: Harvest Goddess, Flora, Keria, Leila, Harvest Sprite Princess, Muffy, Nami, Lumina, Celia, Ann, Popuri, Elli, Karen and Maria. With the Harvest Goddess, the Witch of the Fields, the princess or Furen you can have a special child with a different appearance.
Diamonds: from the second mine dig up diamonds and pink diamonds and give them as gifts: almost all the girls adore them (two thirds more affection points than flowers and basic gifts).
Love meter: buy the Love Bangle at the Sprite casino (5,000 Medals), especially useful for marrying Muffy.
Animals: give/show your animal to a person several times: each time the friendship goes up by a point (with the Love Bangle you can see it). With patience you reach the maximum in a single day, and you unlock Channel 7 Harvest Sprite after 100 friendship points with someone (without the bangle: show the animal 100 times).
Leila: befriend Daryl in his laboratory near the beach with the dog (until the friendship reaches 101), then by selecting the basement door you unlock Leila. She loves sashimi and big fish (800 affection), other fish (300) and jewels (500). For the yellow heart event, fish up a bottle in the sea in spring; then you find it on the shore at midnight on Wednesday. To marry her you need the double bed, 60 Harvest Sprites, the Harvest Goddess found again and a pond for her.
Lumina (birthday spring 29): 800 affection with RelaxTea; 500 with diamonds or pink diamonds. The Witch of the Fields (birthday winter 29, lives in the hut near the mansion): she loves Red Grass, poisonous mushrooms and Rainbow Curry.
