Tricks and Tips
- Prison bus: in the mission "Jail Break", when you arrive with the transport, stop in the middle of the gate so it doesn't close, without going all the way in. On the left there is a gray bus labeled "Prison Transport System": get in, put it in the garage and hurry back to the prison. You will still have to break the three doors. Available only once.
- Easy money: win a circuit race without touching the wall or other racers: $10,000 bonus for a clean race. In the third mission, where Ray asks you to collect $1,500, win the La Guardia Circuit on any difficulty. After the race the circuit closes: save (with autosave turned off) and restart the mission. The circuit will be available again and the money you won stays: repeat as much as you like, then use it to upgrade the cars at Ray's.
- Free parts and modifications: go to a garage and start a race, but before choosing the difficulty go back to the garage, customize and repair all the cars you can. Leave, start the race and restart it: the money comes back, the modifications and parts stay (the car that is racing is not modified for free).
- Cheaper customization: once the game is finished, take a car or a bike from Ray; if it is from 2006 go to 1978 and customize it spending 10 times less.
Secrets and References
- Photo of Ray: in all of Ray's shops in 1978, go up the stairs and zoom in on the table.
- References to Driver: Driver posters in the 1978 house; "Lives Tanner" graffiti in the 2006 hideout; Driver strategy guides at the police station. Many traffic cars are replicas of those in the first Driver.
- DRIV3R: outside the building where they shoot the corrupt cop (mission "Kidnap", 1978), zoom in with a pistol on the yellow dumpsters to see copies of DRIV3R.
- Stuntman: Stuntman posters on the walls of the 1978 house.
- The development team: photos in the newspapers on the street, in the taxis, on the dartboard and in the fridge; the Reflections logo in the graffiti, the Atari logo on a neon sign in Times Square.
