After Phase 2 of "Rising from the Moonlit Fog", NTE opens Version 1.4 "For Whom the Verses Mourn" on September 30: two new Espers, the Pukaland theme island and a second Porsche collab.
On September 9 we left NTE: Neverness to Everness halfway through Phase 2 of update 1.3, with Linko headlining the banner until September 30. That date, though, doesn't just mark the end of a phase - it's also launch day for Version 1.4, "For Whom the Verses Mourn", which covers the following six weeks through November 11.
There are two new arrivals. Blackbird, a Psyche-type Main DPS Esper who fights with Gas Arcs, pins enemies down and transforms into the Witch of Delusion for the finishing blow. Akane Rin, meanwhile, is a Lakshana Esper with Liquid Arcs who turns her own guitar into a weapon: she latches onto a single target, builds up damage and closes with a solo. The banner runs in two phases - Blackbird arrives right away on September 30 alongside a Lacrimosa rerun, and Akane Rin takes her place from October 21.
On the story side, each half of the update carries its own dedicated quest: Blackbird's plays out outside her Witch House, while Akane Rin's picks up from where the two first met, when together they formed the band "The Whoots!!!". Pukaland finally opens too - the theme island teased back in 1.3 and off-limits until now: an amusement park tucked inside Hethereau, with a fresh batch of Anomaly Commissions arriving alongside it.
There's also room for a second Porsche collaboration, after the one seen a few months back - Hotta Studio doesn't seem to be slowing the pace of content down, and honestly, for a game we only discovered on these pages at the start of September, keeping up this rhythm through November is no small thing.
