How the Unlockables Work
The collection unlocks music, illustrations (Art), videos and move lists by completing objectives in the games. The most recurring rules:
- A game's music: complete it on Normal difficulty (Art of Fighting, Fatal Fury, King of the Monsters, King of the Fighters '94, Last Resort, Magician Lord*, Metal Slug, Neo Turf Master, Samurai Showdown, Sengoku, Shock Troopers, Top Hunter). *For Magician Lord beat the high score. For Baseball Stars 2 get 10 points in a single game; for Super Sidekicks 3 score a Chance shot.
- Art on Insane Difficulty: complete the game on Insane to get that game's illustration (Art of Fighting #2, Firebreaker/Fire Fight #1, Fatal Fury #4, KOF '94 #3, King of the Monsters #5, Last Resort #2, Magician Lord #3, Samurai Showdown #10, Sengoku #9, Top Hunter #2 and others).
- Art on Hard Difficulty: Art of Fighting, Fatal Fury #2, King of the Monsters #1 (by completing Fire Fight on Hard), Samurai Showdown #17, Sengoku #7, Top Hunter #1, Super Sidekicks 3 #1 and Metal Slug #36.
Move Lists (complete the game on Easy Difficulty)
- Art of Fighting: unlocks Ralf and Haoh Maru (Samurai Showdown).
- King of the Fighters '94: John Crowley and Yagyu Jubei.
- Sengoku: King and Wan Fu. Last Resort: Lee Pei Long and Sie Kensou. Samurai Showdown: Micky and Athena Asamiya. Top Hunter: Mr. Big and Tam Tam.
- Fatal Fury: Choi Bounge and Heidern. King of the Monsters: Andy Bogard and Galford. Metal Slug: Goro Daimon and Lucky. Magician Lord: Kyo Kusanagi and Kim Kaphwan. Super Sidekicks 3: Terry Bogard and Ukyo.
- Shock Troopers: Earthquake and Nakoruru. Neo Turf Master: Gen-An and Chin Gentsai. Fire Fight: Hanzo and Clark.
Other Move Lists and Special Challenges
- Robert Garcia and Jack Turner: in level 1 of Art of Fighting, break all the objects in the bonus room. Todo and Heavy D!: throw a powered-up Plasma Buster with Roddy.
- Joe Higashi (Fatal Fury) and Robert Garcia: get par on a hole in Neo Turf Master. Terry Bogard and Mr. Karate: score of 25,000 or more in Fatal Fury.
- Benimaru and Ryo (AoF): complete a level of Shock Troopers in Team Mode. Brian Battler and Mai Shiranui: get 5 points in a single game. Chang Koehan and Kyoshiro: win the arm wrestling minigame.
- King and Takuma Sakazaki: disarm a CPU opponent in Samurai Showdown. Yuri and Ryo Sakazaki: score 3 goals with the same player in Super Sidekicks 3. Joe Higashi (KOF) and Last Resort Art #1: reveal the King's Secret ("Hint: Fireballs").
- Astro Guy, Beetle Mania and Woo: in the first game of a pennant race (Baseball Stars 2) make the batter nervous by taunting him. Geon, Poison Ghost and Andy Bogard (Fatal Fury): use the yellow sphere attack in dog form.
- Charlotte and Rocky: kill the Mini-Boss Tank in level 1. Roddy and Cathy (Top Hunter): survive 10 seconds from the start of the fight without enemy contact.
Secret Videos
- Art of Fighting Video #1 and #2 (Mr. Big, Mr. Karate): complete all 3 bonus games.
- Magician Lord: Videos 1-3 by completing the game on Normal; Videos 4-6 by completing level 1 without dying; Video 7 by taking 5 treasure chests in level 2.
- Metal Slug (hidden POWs): Videos 1-3 by completing level 1 only with grenades and Metal Slug weapons; Videos 4-6 by completing the game on Hard; Videos 7-9 by using the knife 50 times in 5 minutes in any level.
Metal Slug Art and Other Games
- Metal Slug #1: perfect fight in Samurai Showdown. #10: defeat 3 opponents without losing a round. #13 and KOF '94 #1: score of 100,000 or more. #16 and #18: fully upgrade the weapons. #20-#22: complete Metal Slug on Insane. #23-#25: 1,000,000 points. #26: enter the Metal Slug high scores. #30: complete Jungle level 1 in 200 seconds. #35: high scores in Super Sidekicks 3. #38-#41: Forest Planet without dying on Normal (and Top Hunter on Normal for #40).
- With 10,000,000 points: Metal Slug #29/#31 and Sengoku #11. With 1,500,000 points on Insane before losing: Metal Slug #5, Sengoku #5 and Magician Lord #1. On Easy in Metal Slug level 5, 37,000 points in one life: Metal Slug #7, #14 and #15.
- Samurai Showdown: #1 high score; #4 15 points in a single game; #5 300 kills without dying; #7 Magician Lord on Hard; #12 Neo Turf Master on Hard; #14 1,000,000 points on Hard; #18 complete the game without continuing.
- Sengoku: #1 a Ryuko Ranbu with Ryo or Robert; #3 an entire inning without the opponent reaching a base; #10 complete the first level without dying on Easy; #12 win with destruction above 50%.
- Magician Lord #2, #4 and other art: view all the forms of the 7 Lords of Magic (also in different games).
